Sun D3 Therapy

Ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun can be broken down into three rays: UVA, UVB and UVC, which differ in their wavelengths and their ability to pass through certain media. The shorter the length, the stronger the energy of the radiation, so their penetration through the skin is deep when the wavelength is high. The light perceived by the retina is transmitted directly to the supra chiasmatic nuclei of the brain which relay the information to a small gland, the epiphysis. At the end of the day, it secretes melatonin, a hormone that makes it easier to fall asleep. Outdoor light can stimulate or decrease its production. Exposure to light in the evening delays the production of melatonin, and therefore sleep. A light show in the morning will, on the contrary, move the clock forward.
